Waste Disposal

Please remember that conscientious management of household and garden waste and careful disposal of rubbish is a responsibility shared by all residents on the Orihuela Costa.

Recycle your waste wherever this is possible, and help to take care of our beautiful local environment.

It’s important to remember that disposing of household or garden waste in the street without prior permission is prohibited by municipal regulations, and people that choose to do so can face fines of up to €1,500.

General rubbish: should at all times be deposited into the grey bins.

Recyclable rubbish: should be taken to the appropriate bins in the area.

Household Items and Furniture: The Town Hall offer a free refuse collection service for household items and furniture. Simply call +34 966 760 000 to request a refuse collection. You’ll need to provide the address where you plan to leave your rubbish, and the Council will schedule your collection and tell you what day and time to deposit your items in the street. Items left on the pavement will not be collected by the Town Hall.

Pruning and Garden Waste: If you employ a gardener, you should ensure
they remove and dispose of garden waste. It should not be left on the road or pavements. If your gardener does not take the garden waste, it should be bagged and taken to a designated silver container for garden waste and not placed in the grey bins which are for general waste only.

IF YOU HAVE ANY WORK DONE PLEASE ENSURE YOUR CONTRACTOR REMOVES ALL RUBBISH FROM THE AREA
